Carcross Cut-off Time Trial June 10
Under less than ideal conditions 16 cyclists toed the start line for the 3rd event in the Icycle Sports - VeloNorth Cycling Series the Carcross Cut-off Time Trial.
This event starts on the Alaska Highway approx. 100m south of the intersection of the South Klondike and Alaska Hwy. It goes 8.5 km south on the Alaska Hwy at which point riders cross the road and return to finish just before the junction of the South Klondike and Alaska Highway - a total distance of 17 km.
With temperatures hovering around 12 degrees and winds that seemed to be coming from all directions, Elijah Buffalo, riding in the Men's Expert Class, exerted his dominance once again covering the course in a respectable 25 minutes and 2 seconds.
Jillian Chown had a flawless ride in turning a time of 29 minutes and 46 seconds to win the Women's Expert Class.
Personal Best were put in by Deb Burgess, Sara Burke-Forsythe and Deb Burgess.
The next event will be a Team Time Trial on Sunday June 14th.
