Registration: is at 8:00 am with the race start at 9:00 am

Note: the early race starts on Saturday and Sunday is to minimize traffic conflicts.

REGISTRATION

will take place on site each day.

At registration you will pay all entry fees and receive your bike and personal numbers.

At the beginning of each stage, you will be required to sign in.

LICENSING / INSURANCE

All riders are
required to have either CAY Insurance or a UCI license.

POST RACE

There will be awards and light snacks at the end of each stage. On the last day winners of the "overall" will be announced

TRANSPORTATION

Stage 1Prologue - is a point-to-point ride but is only 1.8 km long therefore riders can simply return to the start area for their belongings after they complete their ride.

Stage 2 ITT - is an out-and-back course. There will be ample parking at the start/finish area.

Stage 3 RR - The start location will be at Jakes Corner. The course is point-to-point with
riders finishing at the top of the Robert Service Way.

The RR course poses a logistical challenge for both competitors and organizers. In order to remediate the issue ... anyone able to provide a ride to the start to one or more riders (or are looking for a ride) please meet at the highway pull out at the top of the Robert Service Way at 7:00 am on Sunday the 19th.

EQUIPMENT AND SUPPORT

Road surfaces for all the stages range from excellent to good.

A neutral support vehicle for all riders during the Stage 3 road race will be provided - riders wishing to have spare wheels in the vehicle must tag them and give them to the race official prior to the start of the stage.

There will be no neutral support during Stages 1 and 2. During Stage 2 there will be a following SAG vehicle (affectionately called the Broom Wagon) that will pick-up riders who have abandoned. This vehicle will be following the last rider on the course. This vehicle can also carry spare wheels for riders.

During the Stage 1, 1.8 km Prologue, riders must be prepared to fix all mechanical and / or tire problems on their own. Given the nature of the highway and the shortness of the course we cannot allow support vehicles.

During the Stage 2, the individual time trial, riders must be prepared to fix all mechanical and / or tire problems on their own. Given the nature of the road and traffic issues we cannot allow support vehicles to follow individual riders.

During the Stage 3 Road Race there will be "neutral" support".  A SAG vehicle will follow the main peloton
and carry wheels - "wheels-in, wheels-out". Riders must tag their wheels with their name and race number. Riders wishing to provide "extra" wheels for use by any rider can do so.

FEED ZONES

There will be no feed zones during Stage 1.

For Stage 2 riders they can be fed at the turnaround.

During Stage 3, the road race, there will be a neutral feed zone at the top of the hill coming up from the
Yukon River Bridge. You can have personal support for feeding at this point. Riders in the Expert Class for the road race may also have personal support at the pull out at the top of the Robert Service Way as they begin their lap of Miles Canyon.

Friends, relatives, partners etc. are asked not to stop along the road course as the narrow to non-existent road shoulders makes this a potentially dangerous situation

TRAFFIC CONTROL

The race organizers will not provide traffic control. The courses will be signed notifying drivers that there is a race in progress; but it is an open course. Riders must be aware that these are open courses and be aware of all potential traffic hazards.

CLIMATE AND CLOTHING

The daily maximum temperature in Whitehorse at the end of July is between 20 and 18 degrees Celsius and daily lows between 7 and 6. This means that it could well be cool for the start of the road race
and time trial so dress accordingly.

Precipitation averages between 38 and 49 mm in the month of July and the number of days with

Jane Eccles

In 2005, a few days after giving birth, Jane and her family were told she had just hours to live. She had contracted Necrotising Fasciitis (NF) and it was very quickly ripping through her body.

Thankfully their prognosis was not correct, but for Jane this was only the first battle of many. Extensive surgery was required to get rid of the NF, one which involved the removal of her abdominal muscles. As she lay in intensive care, it was becoming clear that her physical ability would never be the same again.
