Tour de Whitehorse

July 8th - Prologue (2 km up South Access) ... starts at 6:30 pm with registration starting at 5:30 pm. Location  for Registration is bottom of South Access at the entrance to the Go-Kart Track.

July 9th - ITT (20 km and 10 km) ... starts on North Klondike at Hot Springs Road at 10 pm. Registration at Gas Station startting at 9 am

July 10th - Road Race starting at Jales Corner - 30 km distance for U13 and Recreational riders ends at Kettley's Canyon, 51 km for U15  and 78 km for Expert ends at South Access. Start time 10 am with registration at 9 am at Jakes Corner

Four days to go until the Tour de France

The peloton will tackle 3358km during the 21 days of racing at this year's Tour de France, as they ride from Utrecht to Paris. There is no time for the general classification contenders to settle into the race this year, with hills, cobbles, coast roads and uphill finishes coming in the first week. The Pyrenees and Alps dominate the second and third weeks, with the lack of individual time trialls putting the focus on the mountains.

After watching Bradley Wiggins ride an impressive new distance Sunday, I am excited to see that interest in the hour record is back... but I still feel the need to rant a bit.

BC Bike Race: Day 1

Searing heat and dusty conditions in Cumberland, BC break the seal on the first day of the BC Bike Race. Paxson and Nash defeat the heat and their fields.
Saturday Registration in North Vancouver saw over 600 racers meet for the first time as they signed in, got their race bags, and dropped off bike boxes to meet them a week later in Whistler. Those pieces of luggage will soon be forgotten in the daily journey to the finish line after riding in an event known for the bubble it creates for it's riders on their travels to the ultimate singletrack experience.

The League of Adventurous Women have launched a 'Try Something New Challenge' to encourage ladies all over the world to get outdoors and have a go at something a bit scary.

The league was founded in 2013 by Michaelle Scanlon, a former Girl Scout leader who wanted to encourage women to get out and tick off bucket-list "would love to do" challenges.

Look to launch 796 time trial bike

New TT bike breaks cover ahead of Tour de France appearance next week

French brand Look is all set to launch a new time trial bike called the 796 over the next few days. It is currently being used by riders from the Look-sponsored Bretagne-Séché Environnement team in the French national time trial championship, and it'll be used again when the Tour de France starts with an individual time trial in Utrecht a week on Saturday (4 July).

Jane Eccles


In 2005, a few days after giving birth, Jane and her family were told she had just hours to live. She had contracted Necrotising Fasciitis (NF) and it was very quickly ripping through her body.

Thankfully their prognosis was not correct, but for Jane this was only the first battle of many. Extensive surgery was required to get rid of the NF, one which involved the removal of her abdominal muscles. As she lay in intensive care, it was becoming clear that her physical ability would never be the same again.

Tara Llane

Tara Liane's incredible story is not one of how she became paralyzed crashing in a downhill mountain bike race back in 2007 but rather one of determination, drive and the positivity.

The four-time national bike champion may have lost the use of her legs but she is living proof that you can always come back fighting and if you have the will, energy and competitive spirit can help you to achieve what others would deem impossible.
